Charles V. Curley

Charles V. Curley has been successfully trying cases for 20 years. Mr. Curley has zealously represented businesses and individual clients in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey with a big firm, a medium sized firm and his own small firm since 2004. Mr. Curley describes himself as a client's lawyer who develops cost effective and goal oriented strategies to maximize client (not lawyer) recovery. Mr. Curley is willing to tackle an array of commercial cases, but he has developed a specialty in employment law.
Mr. Curley has been on both sides of various workplace litigation including ADA, sexual harassment, FMLA, Title VII, non-competition agreements, Fair Labor Standards Act, ADEA claims and wage claims. Mr. Curley has also provided counseling to employers on federal and state compliance with employment laws and contract drafting and review. He has assisted individual clients through difficult severance negotiations as well.
Mr. Curley has delivered several employment related training and informational seminars. He has presented to clients, associations, and local trade groups over the past five years. Mr. Curley publishes articles on various employment topics primarily designed to assist employers to avoid lawsuits. On a daily basis Mr. Curley advises clients on how to hire and fire, comply with discrimination laws, administer COBRA, and negotiate severances.
Mr. Curley has effectively tried commercial cases in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey involving: breach of contract, breach of warranty, fraud, bad faith, defamation and slander, wrongful denial of insurance disability benefits, breach of non-compete agreements, violations of ERISA, discrimination laws involving age, disability, sexual harassment, and pregnancy, the Family Medical Leave Act, wage claims involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, and wage payment laws of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has also appeared before various state and federal agencies representing both employer and employees in the mediation of disputes.
Mr. Curley graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C. in 1986 with honors and a B.A. in Literature. In 1990 he earned his law degree from Villanova University School of Law and began his legal career with the center city law firm of Clark, Ladner Fortenbaugh & Young. Mr. Curley is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Curley serves as an arbitrator for the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas and is a member of various bar associations.
